Rachel & Borel Grab part of SI Cover

Well it's not the whole cover, but Rachel Alexandra and rider Calvin Borel did grab at least part of the Sports Illustrated Cover on this weeks issue.

Inside the magazine SI writer Tim Layden in an article titled "Lady's First" writes about Rachel as well as the gutsy ride of Mine That Bird. Two weeks ago Mine That Bird and Borel grabbed the entire cover of SI. This makes 2 out of the last 3 weeks that Thoroughbred Racing was featured on at least part of the SI Cover.

I'm currently disabled and can't get out. I go to some forums and get hammered by ((the game is dying))blah blah blah--It effects me-why? its all I have at the moment-A strange situation to be in for certain-
OK come Preakness time-My house was loaded with people who grabbed onto the game thru my enjoyment and attitude towards it-

The SI Cover shows the Game is not dead. We have some issues, but we have so much more in the positives, unless my other disabilty is blind?

BTW nice blog!!

Thanks for the heads up about this week's SI. I'll have to make sure I pick that up!

And thanks for the info on the Preakness ratings for Pittsburgh. The Derby ratings were very good here this year too. Maybe there are more horse racing fans here than I thought. If so, I need to find them!

Anon-Racing is not dead for the same reason baseball is not-2 great games that have history and context.

Elizabeth-Pittsburgh is a big sports city and has always shown up ratings wise for the big sports events.

thanks for reading!
